Travel Path Visualized
In the summer of 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to travel with fellow designers to Japan for a Global Studio class, allowing us to visit and explore the amazing areas of Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Tokyo. As we moved through and took in the breathtaking design and community around us, I decided to document our travels with a mixture of photography, but also by collecting mementos of the various locations we visited from maps and tickets to tags and receipts.
In order to share this experience and my personal notation of it, I decided to lay out what I had collected, both my photos as well as various physical media, in the shape of the path we took for travel. Doing this not only allows those who look at it to better visualize this journey, but also caused me to really look back into what I had experienced on this trip – what did I take away from each city? What left the most impact? These are the questions I primarily asked myself while putting together this project, promoting personal reflection.
